Error: E_LIC_ALREADY_RETURNED

Sometimes, there are problems communicating with the Adobe license server when you try to return a title in Adobe Digital Editions (ADE), resulting in an error such as “E_LIC_ALREADY_RETURNED.”

This usually means that the book was returned successfully but was not removed from your ADE library. It can also occur if you try to return a title after it has already been returned.

To fix this, simply delete the file in Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). (Right-click on the resource and select “Remove from Library”).
