How to use a Sony eReader

Use the Sony Reader for PC application (not Adobe Digital Editions). When you open Sony Reader for PC and connect the eReader, a “Reader” entry appears next to My Library, as shown in the illustration. Keep Select all ticked and click Synchronise. Once synchronisation is complete, click Disconnect (next to the Reader icon).

If the eReader is not detected or still will not synchronise, return or delete every book in the eReader’s library and on the PC. Then de-authorise both the device and the Sony Reader for PC application.

Step-by-step procedure

1. Install Sony Reader for PC and authorise it with an Adobe ID.

2. Download the title from the reading platform.

3. Import the file into Sony Reader for PC.

4. Connect the eReader (authorised with the same Adobe ID) and transfer the title.

This procedure will work with new titles. It will not work with books you have already downloaded, as they may have been opened under a different Adobe ID.

It is also advisable to consult the user manual and keep the eReader updated with the latest firmware provided by the manufacturer.
