Problem
When the user borrows a resource, they download it without issue using the Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) tool, verify that they can view it in ADE without any problem, but then when downloading it to their ereader device, a download error occurs or it does not display.
Solution
This issue may be due to two possible causes:
- Ereader device compatibility --> only devices compatible with DRM files allow the download of digitally borrowed titles from a library. For example: a compatible device would be KOBO ereaders and a non-compatible device would be KINDLE.
- Ereader device authentication --> once it has been verified that the ereader device is compatible with DRM files, the ereader must be authenticated with the same credentials used to borrow the resource, because if not, the downloaded ACSM file (which is an encrypted file) detects possible unauthorized use and does not allow it to be opened, neither in ADE nor on the ereader.
